Los Angeles Times Examines High-Deductible Health Plans

Two-year feeding studies in mice and rats conducted under the auspices of the National Toxicology Program (NTP) uncovered no evidence of a carcinogenic potential of hydrochlorothiazide in female mice at doses of up to approximately 600 mg/kg/day (53 times the MRHDD when compared on a body surface area basis) or in male and female rats at doses of up to approximately 100 mg/kg/day (18 times the MRHDD when compared on a body surface area basis).

More research on the TSC genes and the proteins that they make should shed new light on the causes of LAM.

Tubular disease, such as that caused by damage from high blood pressure and Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) may affect this process and allow proteins to escape into the urine.

The latter species, like man, has no anatomical structure comparable to the esophageal groove.

In other words, the whole body may be involved.

Because the growth of the bacteria is inhibited by cotton, either calcium alginate or Dacron swabs must be used in obtaining the sample.

There was a linear dose-response improvement in total sleep time and sleep latency, with significant drug-placebo differences at 2 weeks occurring only for total sleep time at the 2 higher doses, and for sleep latency only at the highest dose.

If the transplant is successful, the new bone marrow cells multiply and begin making new, healthy blood cells within 3 to 4 weeks.
